
In 1992 and
1993, Mr. Al Zaeem traveled to Washington DC, Amman, and Tunis as a
legal advisor to the Palestinian Delegation in the peace talks. After
the signing of the Oslo and Cairo Accords, he was invited to become a
member of the joint Palestinian/Israeli Legal Committee, as well as to
serve as the legal consultant for many other Palestinian negotiating
committees.
In 1995, Mr. Al Zaeem expanded his legal services to include a range
of alternative dispute resolution techniques, through participation in
training programs at Harvard Law School in Boston, and the
International Center for Arbitration in Texas. He has also
participated in the Arab Society for Protection of Intellectual
Property course in Jordan. Mr. Al Zaeem is currently a member of the
Yale Law School Middle East Studies Group and the American Bar
Association.
In addition to his regular practice as an attorney and arbitrator with
many banks and insurance companies, Mr. Al Zaeem currently acts as the
legal consultant to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for
Palestine Refugees in the Near East. Other clients include
Representative Offices to the Palestinian Authority and international
companies from Europe, the United States and Japan.
Mr. Al Zaeem is also
well known in the academic field, whereby he spares some time for
teaching commercial law at the Islamic University in Gaza (the largest
University in the Gaza Strip) as well as training lawyers and
professionals who are interested in the field of alternative dispute
resolution.
Mr. Al Zaeem has been classified as the leading lawyer in Palestine by
"Chambers Global" ( The World's Leading Lawyers ) as from the beginning
of this millennium. |
